| Ok folks. I know that this is the part that you have been waiting for. Our well-esteemed judges really had a difficult time; this has been a very close fight. Such gathering of culinary talents has not been seen for a very long time. I will not kill you anymore with suspense ladies and gentlemen. After sampling the different delicacies from various chefs around the world, the winner of the 25th International Cooking Contest is Chef Julian Padilla! Chef Julian will win $1 Million in cash, a one year contract with a five star Michelin restaurant and an exclusive with Which Chef? magazine. Congratulations to our 2008 champion, Chef Julian! The people started crowding upon me. “Congratulations Julian! You are the best!†“Julian I love your work! I cannot wait for your future creations!†“I cannot believe you bested 350 other candidates, man!†“Hey Julian, sign my autograph please. My family loves you. My best friend has a crush on you. Oh, she will simply die with envy if she sees this autograph!†“I want you to do all the food for all our corporate events from now on. We simply have to get you!†“You are now a big shot Julian. Keep it up!†“Julian, my man, can I have my picture taken with you?†They are right. I cannot believe I won the contest and bested 350 other candidates. I like this feeling--the feeling of triumph, the feeling of finally reaching my dreams, the feeling of seeing all my hardships and labors come into fruition. With all these people congratulating me, telling me how I have been so good in the contest, I felt like I have won the Oscar or something. I feel like a star. It was not always like this back then. I have always loved to cook. On one hand, while the boys of my age love to play basketball, football, hanging out in the local malls and do whatever other stuffs that boys usually do, I, on the other hand, stay at home inside the kitchen just watching my mother cook our meals and asking her bunch of questions about the kinds of meat; how to spot the freshest produce; and the different procedures of cooking. On a good day she would usually humor me, but there are times that I am really getting on her way. She would tell me: if you like cooking so much, why don’t you try cooking at cooking games? Cooking games? I have never heard of cooking games. It turns out cooking games is a collection of games found in the Net that focus on cooking and baking. You really get to do your own food preparation without the mess that accompanied me then whenever I man the kitchen. You might say that cooking games was my first formal hands on lessons in harnessing my cooking skills. It turned out that my mother was right in pointing me to this game after all.
